Writing Therapy Groups

Writing therapy or journal therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the act of writing down your thoughts, feelings into words and processing them.

It is based on the belief that recording memories, concerns and problems can help, promote health and well being and lead to self discovery and personal growth.
 
Writing therapy groups can be a valuable opportunity to share experiences, develop peer support and explore life challenges via writing in the presence of an experienced therapist.

Writing Therapy Groups can help you to:

  • Explore important relationships and gain perspective
  • Explore specific periods in your life
  • Increase your confidence and self esteem
  • Ease stress and anxiety

Experience
Charmaine Pollard is an experienced therapeutic writing facilitator and uses expressive writing in her work. She is committed to continuing professional development; she is a member of Lapidus the UK organisation for writing and reading for health and wellbeing. Lapidus works from the principle that words used creatively can be a powerful tool for health and personal, community and world development.
