Groups
Groups can be a valuable opportunity to share experiences, develop peer support and explore difficulties with others in the presence of an experienced therapist.
Groups can help you to:
*Develop a greater sense of self awareness
*Gain different perspectives in a safe and supportive environment
*Increase your confidence and self esteem
*Reduce your isolation
*Try out new ways of behaving in a safe environment
Members decide what they want to talk about and have an opportunity to deal with personal issues as well as those that may arise from the group.
Group interaction provides an opportunity for you to learn more about the way you interact with others.
You probably will be most helped and satisfied if you talk about your feelings. It is important to keep in mind that you are the one who determines how much you disclose in a group.
Members make a commitment to attend the group on a regular basis, at the same day and time each week, for a fixed number of sessions and keep the content of the sessions confidential.
Experience
I am a BACP accredited counsellor and trained in group work.
I have extensive experience of facilitating different groups such as: support groups, survivors groups, parenting groups, journal writing therapy groups, group therapy and personal development groups in various sectors, dealing with a range of issues.
