Stress is a word that has been bounded about for a number of years and the word has increased in usage in recent times. There are various stress definitions around, however stress means different things to different people. The Stress Management Society defines stress as: “a situation where demands on a person exceed that person’s resources or ability to cope”.
Stress is not an illness, in small quantities pressure is good and can motivate you and help you be more productive. However, if stress at work or stress becomes too excessive and prolonged, stress can interfere with life, health, activities, and can lead to mental and physical illness.
